Interesting. So why might that note be louder than the rest? A resonance of the bass amplifier used, a room node in the live room, higher sensitivity on that string/pickup? Good tip though, I think there are recordings out there that could do with this treatment.

Hi Bob, Great to see ya on youtube ! I've communicated with you via gearslutz on many occasions, and even invited you over next time you go to MExico... remember me ? Why would you use an EQ to take out that resonance in the bass , rather than use a multiband compressor to tame the levels in the bass ? What advantage does one method have over the other ?
